This Programme has been ongoing since 2006; AMAN was formally registered in 2005-2006. Health being the core area of AMAN’s work, we began to focus on “Health For All”, conducting preventive, curative, and advocacy measures and follow-up actions for enhanced and enduring impact. Our main priority is achieving good health for poor people by providing access to health care as also by educating them about healthy practices with emphasis on nutrition, hygiene, sanitation, and reproductive health. We aim to bring together different groups and individuals for providing quality and affordable health care services for the poor.
Over the years, AMAN has organized free Diabetes, heart check, blood pressure, and general health camps for the marginalized to help them access health care services including check-up and diagnosis which they may not be able to afford otherwise. These camps are conducted by doctors and provide free medicine to the patients. These camps are also used for advocacy measures and hence interactive workshops, informative presentations by doctors, and a range of simple messages for better health.
It seeks to empower and enhance the overall status of adolescent girls, women, and young unemployed people. The Programme objective is to impart vocational skills through learning different modern skills like Sewing, Weaving, Computer Training, food processing, leather goods, crafts, soft toys, dari and carpets, marble works, and stitching work.
This programme is a modest step towards assisting women of marginalized communities in generating additional income for meeting their household needs, by utilizing their skills in the production of different items under vocational training. We participate in different melas, festivals, and sell our products which provide additional income for their labor.
AMAN is engaged in environment-related issues and working in that specific area. AMAN has organized various health camps in rural areas. AMAN has also conducted pollution awareness and competitive programs in various schools and to encourage children, distributed prizes to the winners of the competition. Plantation is a core activity under this movement. The organization has repaired 6 hand pumps and 2 wells in rural areas by contribution of local people and organized two water, sanitation, and hygiene awareness camps in rural areas.
The organization is working in the field of Rain Water Harvesting, Ground Water Resourcing, Environment Awareness (Tree Plantation, Education), and Health Awareness among various communities. Since 2005, we have been working with marginalized and vulnerable sections of society with a particular focus on health and environment.
The organization has also conducted awareness programs in various slums and rural areas in Agra on HIV and AIDS, child rights, global warming, RCH, pollution, cancer, anemia, general health, and environment topics.
We have been adopting the following strategies to implement our development programmes:
